Fence Installation
Fence Installation in Midland & Odessa, TX
A fence in West Texas has to stand up to wind that never really stops, sun that dries out wood in a season or two, and the occasional storm that tests every post. Tall City Exteriors builds fences for homes, businesses and ranches across Midland, Odessa and the Permian Basin, and we build them with that weather in mind.
We build wood privacy, pipe and metal, ornamental iron, aluminum, chain link and vinyl fences. On wood fences you choose the posts: wood or steel. If there's an old fence in the way, we tear it out and haul it off first. When the new fence is done, we can come back and stain it, so it's protected from the start.
Tall City Exteriors is BBB Accredited and fully insured, and every estimate is free.

Wood Privacy Fences
The most common fence in Midland and Odessa backyards, and the one that takes the most beating from the sun. We build wood privacy fences in the style and height you want, with wood or steel posts. Wood posts give the classic all-wood look. Steel posts won't rot, and they're the choice a lot of West Texas homeowners make for a fence that stays straight. We'll walk you through the tradeoffs at the estimate.
Good to know: New wood looks great for a few months, then the sun starts graying it. Ask about staining your new fence once the wood is ready, and it'll keep its color far longer.
Pipe & Metal Fences
Pipe and metal fencing is built for open ground: ranch and acreage lines, pipe-rail fronts, and anywhere you want strength and visibility instead of privacy. We build pipe and metal fences for homes, businesses and ranches.
Ornamental Iron & Aluminum Fences
Ornamental iron and aluminum give you a strong, clean-looking fence that doesn't block the view: front yards, entries, pools and storefronts. Aluminum won't rust and needs no painting; iron is the heavier, classic choice. We build both, with walk and drive gates to match.
Chain Link Fences
Chain link is the practical choice for securing a yard, a commercial lot or an equipment area without blocking the view. We install chain link for homes and businesses, with gates to match.
Vinyl Fences
Vinyl doesn't need staining or painting, and it won't rot or splinter. It's a good fit if you want a clean look with as little upkeep as possible. We install vinyl privacy fences with matching gates.
Gates
Every fence we build can include gates: walk gates, double drive gates, and gates matched to the fence style. We hang them to swing and latch properly, because a gate that drags is the first thing you'll notice on a new fence.
Old Fence Removal
Replacing a fence that's leaning, rotted or blown over? We tear out the old fence and haul off the debris before we build, so you don't have to arrange a separate crew or a dumpster.
Commercial, Ranch & Deer Fencing
Along with homes, we build fences for commercial properties and ranch and acreage land across the Permian Basin, including ranch rail and deer fencing along property lines, pastures and entrances. Tell us the footage and what the fence needs to do, and we'll quote the right fence for it.
Our Fence Building Process
Free on-site estimate: We walk the fence line with you, measure, and talk through fence type, height, posts and gates, then give you a clear quote.
Tear-out: If there's an old fence, we remove it and haul it off.
Build: Posts first, then rails, pickets or panels, then gates.
Walkthrough: We walk the finished fence with you, check every gate, and clean up before we leave.

Build It, Then Stain It

Do you take out the old fence?
Yes. We can tear out and haul off your old fence before we build the new one.
Should I get wood or steel posts?
Either works, and we install both. Steel posts don't rot and hold up well in West Texas wind. Wood posts keep the all-wood look. We'll explain the tradeoffs for your fence at the estimate.
What types of fences do you build?
Wood privacy, pipe and metal, ornamental iron, aluminum, chain link and vinyl, plus ranch rail and deer fencing, for homes, businesses and ranches.
Can you stain my new fence?
Yes. Staining is one of our main services. We'll let you know when your new wood is ready, and then stain it so it doesn't gray out in the sun.
Do you build fences for businesses and ranches?
Yes. Along with homes, we build fences for commercial properties and ranch and acreage land across the Permian Basin.
